Board of Education Update

Next Regular Board of Education Meeting

The next regular Board of Education meeting will be on January 12, 2026, at 6:00 p.m., at the District Office. All meetings are open to the public. Regular meetings are streamed live through YouTube and viewable on the District website. Special meetings, where there are action items on the agenda, will also be streamed live. Agendas for Board of Education meetings are posted on the district website the Friday before each meeting. Click here to view agendas and minutes.
 

Kindergarten Registration is Open

Do you have a student ready to start Kindergarten in August 2026? Bennington Public Schools is currently accepting registrations for any incoming Kindergarten students. If your child will be eligible for Kindergarten (age 5 by July 31, 2026) please visit our district website www.benningtonschools.org and click on "Enroll a Student" to register for the upcoming school year, and be sure to select the 2026-2027 school year.

Determining the enrollment for the next year is important for future staff planning. Completing registration also ensures that you receive communication regarding kindergarten. 
 

Winter Weather

School Closing & Late Start Reminders

In the event of winter weather, the District would use phone calls, emails, and text messages to notify staff and families that school is either closed or there is a 2-hour late start. 

Announcements:
School closings will be announced using the following media sources listed below:
District Notification: ParentSquare (Phone, Email, Text Message, App)
Television: KMTV 3, WOWT 6, KETV 7
Radio: KFAB (AM 1110), KKAR (AM1290)
Social Media: Facebook - Bennington Public Schools Facebook, Twitter - @aaronplasBPS

Reminders:
When school is closed due to inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances, BPS will make efforts to make up these educational opportunities. The District has embedded days into the school calendar for such occasions. 
  • Students will NOT make-up the first two snow days. 
  • NEW THIS YEAR! The third and fourth snow days will be Remote Education days.
  • If there are more than four snow days, the District will communicate the plan for those missed days.

Trip to Europe for Class of 2028 Graduates

Mrs. Johnson is planning a TRIP TO EUROPE for all Sophomores students graduating in 2028! The trip will be 14 days and include 5 countries: The Netherlands, Belgium, France, Switzerland and Italy. It will depart as soon as school is out for the summer in 2028. 

There will be an INFORMATIONAL PARENT MEETING in January. Watch the newsletter for more information. Attend with your parents so that you have all of the information about travel, safety and the entire adventure!

Cub Scout Pack 13 is for Boys & Girls in Grades K-5
  • The Pack is made up of 6 Dens (1 for each grade)
  • There is usually 1 Pack activity (on Saturday afternoons) and 2 Den activities per month.

Cost: Pay $150 in dues, plus sell a minimum of $300 in popcorn for 1st-5th graders.
